Cuban Sandwich

By: Suez  Family: Suez's Family

A great sandwich for the weekend, have a cold beer and some crunch plain potato chips.
prep time:15 mins
cook time:10 mins
total time:25 mins
serves:4

Ingredients

Panini buns, or a french loaf or something similar

3 types of deli meat, I like to use a ham, a salami and a caribbean chicken. But you can use whatever you fancy.

Pickles, thinly sliced

White cheese, provolone, swiss or monterey jack

Mayo
Mustard (yellow or Dijon)
Soft butter, or marg

Directions

Open the buns, put mayo on one side, mustard on the other. Layer the three meats up on one side, top with the pickle slices and then the cheese.

Close up the sandwich, lightly butter the top and bottom of the bun.

Heat a large skillet, big enough to fit two sandwiches. You need a bit weight to squish down the sandwiches (unless of course you have a panini press). I take a big pot and fill it with cans of soup (or beans or whatever) and set it on top of the sandwiches, when the one side is golden brown, flip them over and put the weight back on top.

When they are ready, put them off and cut them in half, the cheese should be melted. Serve with some potato chips and an ice cold beer.
