-a small round of brie cheese
-3 tbsp of black cherry jam
-2 tbsp of toasted sliced almonds
-1/8 tsp fresh ground black pepper
-wet the cedar plank (no need to soak it)
-place brie round on the plank and press center down with a tablespoon to form an indentation
-spoon the black cherry jam into the indentation
sprinkle the almonds over and around the brie and jam
-grind the black pepper over the jam and brie
-place in a preheated BBQ over flame (to create some burning/smoke)
-close lid and heat until cheese has melted (be careful to check as the cheese will run off the plank)
-place plank, et al, on a non flamable surface (ie a tinfoil covered cutting board) and serve with non flavoured crackers or thinly sliced toasted baggette.
